We’ve started out February portion of the Fly Tying Video Feature series, and have videos cued up for Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the month. We hope you’ve been enjoying the series so far!

Friday Five: 2/2/18
We’ve finally come out of the long month of January, and here we are at the first Friday Five of February. There’s been a lot of great content that’s come out recently, so some of it will be highlighted here and more will be highlighted next week. The great content to choose from just keeps on coming. Grab you cup of coffee and enjoy today’s selection.
From the Vice: January 2018
January always feels long. It was a good start to the new year, and there were some new experimentations coming off the vice. One of the big things was working with bucktail for the first time, which ended up being a lot of fun and a material that I want to use more and more. It’s also been a good time to start restocking the standard nymph and dry fly boxes as well.
Fly Tying Video Feature: Blue-Winged Olives
Stumped at the vice? Perusing YouTube fly tying videos aimlessly trying to find the one you’re looking for? Look no further, because our Fly Tying Video Feature series is designed just for you.
Friday Five: 1/26/2018
January is coming to an end, one more month of winter is done, and we’re coming onto the shortest month of the year. To help you ease into the final days of January, here are three articles and two videos for this week’s Friday Five.
(Only after compiling this week’s content did I realized that the three articles are all about nymphing and the two videos have to do with streamers.)
Friday Five: 1/19/2017
It’s Friday! Time to pour yourself that coffee and enjoy the Friday Five. This week is a bit heavier on the videos – there will be more articles coming next week!
Speaking of videos, check out our Fly Tying Video Feature series, which we started this month. Each post is 4-5 patterns on a specific type of “fish food,” whether it’s hellgrammites, articulated streamers, or sulphurs (for example). We’ll be posting those on Mondays and/or Wednesdays over the winter to give you some ideas at the vice.
Fly Tying Video Feature: Streamers, Day 1
It’s January, and that means that for many of us in the north of the Mason-Dixon Line we’re in the midst of winter and the start of fly tying season. (Don’t get me wrong – you can still get out and fish too!)
From the Vice: December 2017
It’s hard to believe that we’ve hit the end of 2017! This has probably been my least active month at the vice this fall, but I had some fun doing some experimenting.
Friday Five: 12/15/2017
Snow arrived yesterday and gave us a foretaste of a white Christmas. The temps have been cold, but it’s good to be living in a place where you can fish year-round. This morning is another cold one here in central Pennsylvania, which makes grabbing that hot cup of coffee all the more enjoyable.
We have a video and four articles for you today, ranging from the growing number of women in fly fishing (which is great!) to cleaning your tying desk to treating hypothermia. Enjoy!
Friday Five: 11/24/2017
Happy day-after Thanksgiving! Now that you’ve come out of your tryptophan-induced coma, it’s time to make that perfect Thanksgiving leftover sandwich and enjoy our selection for you this week.
