Friday Five: 1/19/2017

It’s Friday! Time to pour yourself that coffee and enjoy the Friday Five. This week is a bit heavier on the videos – there will be more articles coming next week!

Speaking of videos, check out our Fly Tying Video Feature series, which we started this month. Each post is 4-5 patterns on a specific type of “fish food,” whether it’s hellgrammites, articulated streamers, or sulphurs (for example). We’ll be posting those on Mondays and/or Wednesdays over the winter to give you some ideas at the vice.

Friday Five: January 5, 2018

It’s a cold morning here in Central PA – like, wind chill of minus 20 degrees Farhenheit cold. It’s the perfect morning to pour yourself an extra large mug of coffee, grab your blanket, and check out this week’s Friday Five while thinking of slightly warmer temperatures.

(Don’t get me wrong, I don’t necessarily mind the cold. It’s just really cold for this time of the winter here.)

Fly Tying Video Feature: Streamers, Day 2

Maybe you’re stuck in a rut on what to be tying this winter: enter the Fly Tying Video Feature. Throughout the winter we’re going to be featuring flies for all occasions (sometimes it will be imitations of a specific fish/insect, other times it will be general imitations of a category). The goal is doing 1-2 of these posts per week for your viewing pleasure and to help get the juices flowing at the vice!
